Bamboo Bowl & Tray Basket

The flat form descends from the winnowing tray still used to separate rice from husk across the region. The same weave, made smaller and finished more finely, has become one of the workshop's steadiest table pieces.

Crafted in Barpeta, Assam, Northeast India.

Shallow open forms for the table — a round bowl for fruit and bread, and a flat winnowing-style tray that works as a serving board or wall piece. Both are woven in one plane with a doubled rim for rigidity. Each piece is made by hand using traditional weaving techniques adapted for contemporary use. Learn more on the artisans page.
