Product Story
Lidded containers are woven in matched pairs, body and lid together on the same mould, so the fit stays snug. A lid woven separately almost never sits right.
Crafted in East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, Northeast India.
Craftsmanship & Process
Cylindrical containers with close-fitting domed lids, woven in green bamboo that mellows to honey as it dries. Made in a graduated range so several sit together on a shelf — spices and dry goods in the small sizes, utensils and cloth in the tall ones. Each piece is made by hand using traditional weaving techniques adapted for contemporary use. Learn more on the artisans page.
